The Shear Behavior of Insulated Precast Concrete Sandwich Panels Reinforced with BFRP

Typical insulated precast concrete sandwich panel (PCSP) systems are composed of two wythes separated by a layer insulation. The structural behavior PCSP heavily depends on elements between known as connectors, which ensure they work whole. Double shear tests were carried out 58 specimens reinforced with basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) connectors; failure modes, load displacement curves and bearing capacity BFRP connectors obtained. Effects diameter, insulation thickness, installation angle, layout spacing combined action analyzed. results show that the span ratio connector was suggested to be less than 15, angle should set 60° or 75° for suitable stiffness an abundant safety margin. decreases slightly increase in connectors’ while overall impact is small. force plane spatial combination can calculated according one single connector. Moreover, model proposed this paper provides favorable design option using connectors.
